The Waste Land is written and directed by the experienced theatre worker Wang Mo-lin. In The Waste Land , the director tells the story through the conversation between the two main characters: they are comrades of a political campaign, but when humanity gradually bashes and leads their revolutionary movement to its destined and despairing end, the vanity of the revolution dream reflects the cruelty of reality, and the dreamers of revolution are doomed to be punished with perpetual unrest and trapped in a predicament of life with no way out. When life disintegrates and collapses into a boundless waste land, where can we escape to?
