Introduction
Webern is a representative figure of the Second Vienna School. His 13 minutes long Sechs Stücke includes pieces as short as 11 bars and as long as 40 bars. With his succinct style and experimental spirit, he creates sounds that are both intriguing as well as fresh. Bruckner's Symphony No.4, on the other hand, is the most famous of all his symphonies. It is extremely romantic and touching. Last but not least, we have Haydn's Cello Concerto No.1, which was discovered 150 years after Haydn's death. The piece will be performed by iconic German celloist Alban Gerhardt, who often performs chamber music with noted flutist Emmanuel Pahud and German violinist Christian Tetzlaff.
