NSO精選—馬勒第九

NSO Classic-Mahler, No. 9
2009/09/24
Introduction
Being the title of the last pieces by Beethoven, Schubert and Bruckner, Symphony No. 9 seems like a deadly curse. In Mahler's
Symphony No. 9, however, the genius that shines through the andante shows that he was no longer afraid of death, though he did
express sorrow for aging and losing his wife with the very first sentence of the piece. Herbig the conductor was amazed by this
grandiose piece, which is not only a reflection of Mahler's creativity and life experiences, but also a most affectionate farewell to the
world. This is the first performance of Forever No.9 series conducted by Herbig.
