西元一八三一年，三十歲的貝里尼寫下了歌劇代表作《諾瑪》，以兩女一男貝里的多角異國戀情展現愛情、仇恨與寬恕的角力，更將義大利美聲唱法發揮到極致，鋪陳出一齣華麗誘人的歌劇。1950年代，卡拉絲精采詮釋下的《諾瑪》，使本劇成為古今最優秀女高音都必須挑戰的試鍊，此次在《諾瑪》中擔綱演出的是我國旅義多年、被譽為「東方卡拉絲」的女高音朱苔麗;諾瑪的情敵-雅達姬莎則由技巧完美、音色甜美純淨的女高音徐以琳演出，劇場才子黎煥雄和NSO音樂總監簡文彬齊力打造《諾瑪》的戲劇及聲音美學。1聆賞過NSO的《托斯卡》、《浮士德》與《唐．喬望尼》，你絕對不能錯過NSO的《諾瑪》！
When V. Bellini wrote the opera "Norma"
in 1831, he was only 30 years old. Medea, who kills her own
child in the original tragic ancient Greek myth, gets transformed
in the hands of Bellini to become a Druid priestess who sacrifices
herself for love. In the spirit of feminism a century before
its spread, Bellini composed powerful and dramatic music to
highlight love, hatred, vengeance and anger.
"Norma" is a two-act opera written in Italian "Bel
Canto" style. Ever since soprano of Greek parentage Maria
Callas reprised the lead role in the 1950s, the finest sopranos
of the world have felt challenged to sing the part of Norma.
Taiwan's very own Tai-Li Chu, a voice student of Del Monaco
and Gobbi, makes a first comeback in her homeland for the first
time in more than 10 years to sing in "Norma." The
NSO's Wen-Pin Chien convinced her. Huan-Hsiung Li, fresh from
his successful directing of "Subway," is the director
of "Norma."
