Entry Time for Performance Venues:

The National Theater:

Access to the Grand Foyer 40 minutes before the performance starts, and to audience seats 30 minutes before the performance starts.

The National Concert Hall:
Access to the Grand Foyer 40 minutes before the performance starts, and to audience seats 30 minutes before the performance starts.

The Recital Hall:
Access to the Hall and audience seats 30 minutes before the performance starts. The Experimental Theater: Access to the Hall and audience seats 30 minutes before the performance starts.

Access of the Performance Venues:

There are 5 places for audience entry at the National Theater and the National Concert Hall, and one for both the Recital Hall and the Experimental Theater. You can choose one of the following entrances to the venues:

The audience entrances of the National Theater include:
(1) Gate 1 at the Ground Floor of Aiguo East Road;
(2) Gate 2 at the Ground Floor of the side of the Square;
(3) Gate 4 at the First Floor of Aiguo East Road;
(4) Gate 5 at the First Floor of the side of the Square and
(5) Basement Car Park.

The audience entrances of the National Concert Hall include:
(1) Gate 1 at the Ground Floor of Xinyi Road;
(2) Gate 2 at the Ground Floor of the side of the Square;
(3) Gate 4 at the First Floor of Xinyi Road;
(4) Gate 5 at the First Floor of the side of the Square &
(5) Basement Car Park.

The Recital Hall:

Upon entry by the side of the Basement Car Park, or Gate 1 or Gate 2 of the National Concert Hall, go downstairs to the Basement.

The Experimental Theater:
Upon entry by Gate 3 of the National Theater, take a lift and go to Third Floor.

Services for the Audience:

Seat Guide Service:

The seat guides on different stories will assist you in finding your seat and show you the location of public facilities.

Broadcasting Service:

The broadcasting service will announce related messages relating to the performance of the program.

Safekeeping Service:

You can keep your personal belongings in the Safekeeping Service during the performance.

Late Arrivals:

No audience is allowed to enter either the National Theater or the National Concert Hall after a program starts. However, you will not miss any episodes because there are television sets on every storey of the National Theater and the National Concert Hall, broadcasting the live show of the program. The seat guide will take you to your seat at an appropriate timing.

Gift Shop:

Before the program starts and during intermission, the audience can read the program pamphlet and/or buy related souvenirs at the Information desk on the First Floor.

Beverages Bar:

Light foods and beverages are available at the Grand Foyer on the First Floor before a program starts and during the intermission.

Taxi Stand and Audience Access:

Entrance/exit for audience by taxi or automobiles can go through the First Floor of the National Theater and the Concert Hall at Xinyi Road and Aiguo East Road.

Wireless Taxi Paging Service:
The National Theater and the National Concert Hall offer taxi paging services, allowing audience members to alight taxis at the main entrance of both Halls, at Xinyi Road and Aiguo East Road.

Notes for the Theater:

Are the programs of the National Theater and the National Concert Hall rated?
Generally speaking, all programs performed in the National Theater and the National Concert Hall are for adults, and are not suitable for children under the age of 7. But if a program is rated as a "children's program," then there is no age restriction. However, if audience members of any age should interrupt the performance with unruly behavior or misconduct, our service staff may ask you to leave.

What is the dress code of the audience?
It is not necessary to dress in evening gowns or other formal attire, yet your dress should not be too casual either. Wearing sandals or short pants is regarded as an impoliteness to the artists and other audience as well.

What if I'm late for the performance?
You are advised to arrive on time. However, late arrivals or those who leave their seats during the performance can watch live broadcasts at TV broadcast areas. They will then be guided to their seats during intermission or at an appropriate pause in the program.

Should I turn off my mobile phone during the performance?

Of course. It is a respect to other audience members, and more, a reflection of your inner quality. In addition to mobile phones, please turn off all your electronic belongings, such as alarms on your wristwatches. Also refrain from chatting with neighboring audience members, or leaving your seat during the performance, unless absolutely necessary. Shouting or frequent coughing is considered noise as well.

Can I take videos or pictures of performances?
No, you are not allowed to take videos or pictures, or to broadcast via TV or radio, unless you have been authorized by the hosting unit and wear a work permit. This is a protection to the intellectual property rights of the artists, as well as a form of respect to other audience members.

Can I smoke or eat when watching the performance?
Smoking, eating and drinking are strictly prohibited in the seating areas of the National Theater and the National Concert Hall. If you want to eat, please go the Grand Foyer, where there is a Beverage Bar serving light refreshments as well. For those who want to smoke, our service staff can put a chop on your ticket, then you can go to the arcade and smoke.

What if I want to present flowers to the artists?
Presenting bouquets of flowers to artists is a great encouragement to them, but the presentation has to be done properly. Due to the difference of stage design, the National Theater and the National Concert Hall have different restrictions on bouquet presentation. At the National Concert Hall and the Recital Hall, the audience can be guided by the staff of the Center to present the prepared bouquets to the performers on stage, and then return to their seat immediately. But the complicated stage of the National Theater stops audience from doing so because of safety issues. Please pass the bouquet to the staff for transferring to the artists. To present a floral basket, please put it along the arcade on the First Floor of the National Theater and the National Concert Hall, and in front of the entrance of the Experimental Theater and the Recital Hall.

Can I ask for the artists' autograph?
The audience of the National Theater and the National Concert Hall can wait for artists' autograph at the performers' entrance on the Ground Floor (Gate 3), whereas for performances given at the Recital Hall, audience members can wait at the performers and crew entrance in the Basement.

What if I want to return or balance the payment of the tickets?

The Center reserves the rights to change the content of the programs due to all unforeseeable reasons. If such changes affect the rights of the audience, the Center will take the initiative to announce the situation, and work on all ticket return affairs. Audience members holding concession tickets should present their tickets and ID upon entry; otherwise, they are required to pay the balance of the full amount plus a handling charge.

Are there any car parking benefits to the audience?

Holding a ticket to the performance of the day, audience members can enjoy favorable a parking fee of NT$80 in the Basement Car Park.
